someone tell me about windows vista please?

i just bought a laptop that was preloaded with windows vista...its slow, doesnt run with half of what i need to execute....i do not care for it and would prefer to remove it and load windows xp....how much of a problem would this be and are there any reprocussions of doing so?....also, while i'm on the subject of my laptop...i have wireless internet at home and work (which i love) ....everytime i power up my computer it tells me that it has been shut down improperly and prompts me for a normal startup....i ALWAYS shut down my computer properly closing all programs and then shutting it down....why would it say this on powerup?....maybe something to do with my wireless connection?...thanks

All of you are right...WINDOWS VISTA SUCKS... It's really heavy on the memory due to all the cool effects you see in vista like the fade in and fade out of the windows when you minimise and maximise them.

So now you want to install Xp because it's faster then windows vista , well i got news for you. If your laptop bears the logo of windows vista then most probably the drivers for the devices in your laptop are exclusively made for windows vista. Which means you'll have to download and install drivers for the devices in your laptop seperately when its running on XP. And if you laptop manufacturer have not provided the drivers designed for windows XP then those devices won't work once you install Xp. Mostly this happens since they take it for granted that their customers will use only Vista on their laptop , so just won't design the drivers for windows XP.

And the problem with you wireless internet connection maybe just a bug....since vista is quite new it's bound to have bugs like these . Don't worry , keep installing updates for your Vista. or there is some compatibility issue with your wireless internet connection and you Vista.

IF you want to speed up you laptop check out vista tips and tricks. just search for "vista hacks" in google...you are bound to find something interesting.

im not much of a laptoptop person but i know Vista is a bit buggy right now and vista requires 512MB of RAM but to geet things running good I would put 1GB at least but if you want to go to XP do so i doubt there would be any reprocussions of doing so. just get the XP disc (SP2) i recommend
