The Air Force does not have a program for advanced rank by referring people to join. You can get E-3 by signing up for a 6 year enlistment. They will promote you to E-3 at completion of tech school or at your 20 week mark, whatever comes first.
The Army and Marines are the branches that have the Advanced Rank program by bringing in friends to join.

No. The only way I know from what I have been told of gaining a rank before basic is earning a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout award.

Probably too late for you but, college can get you a higher entry rate. My Daughters both entered the Navy as E-3's due to college classes (non-military type).

---hell yah the technical school should be able to contribute something, get a copy of your transcript. show your recruiter and see how it breaks down. And if your buddy really wants the join, nothing wrong with taking the credit. And its never too late to change or edit the paperwork. recruiters only care about shipping you out.

You may be able to make E-2. If you are E-2 the men in basic training will have to take orders from you. (You will be a leader) You can sleep in a few extra minutes and make the E1 people make your bed and shine your shoes. Best to you and good luck.

i now the navy had a program like this when i was a recruiter.that was in 1994 my desk was right next to the airforce i never heard them talk about such a program . and the airforce is way picky about who they take also very tight with advancement. i made e6 in 6 years those guys had over 15 in and where e5s..

Your recruiter has the authorization to actually put you in as an e-3.But he most definitely should give you e-2 with referrals.
