Do Vampires have heart beats?

If you're writing a fictional vampire story, you can write it however you like. I think it's better to have vampires with a heartbeat, ones that are a little more human. If you assume blood would flow through their veins and arteries, then they would have a heartbeat. If you like, you can have them lifeless and heartbeat-less while they sleep. Do you really want your vampires to be smelly, rotting corpses? Or do you want them to be attractive and seductive. You decide. It's your story.

Real vampires are living people, but most of the people on here don't really care to hear about us. They want to discuss the fictional and folkloric ones. So be it. They're asking in the Mythology and Folklore section, afterall.

If you ask if vampires are real, how to meet real vampires, or sometimes when I just feel like it, I'll tell you about real ones. But I'm not going to beat a dead horse about it.

some people say vampires are born, not so. some say they are halfbreeds, couldn't happen cause the male sperm is dead. vampires are created from blood transference. Adam's first wife was the first vampire. by definition a vampire is a dead human. so no heart beat,no organs work, no sperm, etc. and no they do not decay cause the blood of the vampires keeps the body from decay. what a life.

But our blood flow is slightly off which causes our pulse to be slightly abnormal (speeds up, skips beats)

As long as you are talking about fictional vampires, since this is the only kind there are, no they are undead and thus have no need for a heartbeat.

I'm as big a fan of fiction as anyone, but please, Vampires are made up stories.

i do not believe so because logically they r dead meaning theyre body is no longer pumping blood [why they r so cold]. since heart beats help pump blood and there is no blood being pumped in a vampire, they do not have heart beats.

I don't believe I've either read or heard about a whether a vampire has a heartbeat or not but they don't cast a reflection in a mirror.

If you have ever see a Si Fi series called The Lexx, there is a Vampire of sorts in that, he is called Kai (spelling?) and I know he has no heartbeat..
