Someone make me feel better?

My friend is going to a club for her birthday tomorrow and it's for 18 and over, and I’m 17. almost. anyway i decided that it would be too embarrassing to try and sneak in and get caught so i'm staying home. No one knows i'm only 17 because i'm in college and i won't tell anyone how old i am. So now i'm missing my friend’s birthday and as a kick i missed my other friends birthday to-day because of finals! I worked so hard to get where i am and i still not happy. I can't be a teenager but i'm not old enough to be considered an adult. I feel like i'm missing out in both worlds.

Update:

I know i'm smart to stay in, but i'm always smart. I never do anything. I feel like such a baby for being upset that can't go to the club but i feel like i'm missing out and i don't know what to do about it.

Update 2:

thanks guys, it always amzing that conpleat stangers can help.

I am so sorry you're going through this right now. I know how it feels to feel like you can't share yourself with the people around you. Even though times are tough right now, you are so smart to take care of yourself and to be studious enough to have surpassed your peers. Now comes the really tough part - being honest about who you are with the people around you. It's so much easier to be happy when you are free to be you.

There was a time when I, too, kept things from people because I didn't want to lose their respect. I only found true happiness when I maintained a life and relationships in which I felt free to be me. I learned when people eventually found out the truth that with some people I lost respect because I hid things - not because of *what* I hid. I also learned that the people whose respect I lost because of the actual truth were never my friends to begin with. The friends I kept through that are still my friends today!

    Take care.

Be patient your time will come and as I tell all young kids and teens live out your childhood and don't want to grow up to fast it's not as simple as you think. If I could be a youngan or teen again WOW I would have fun everyday even if I can't get into something for the older crowd
