First, how the heck did that happen, second, you would need to take the drive apart to clean it out, and there would be no gaurentee to completely clean it, third, by the time you took it out and apart, just easier to buy a new drive. Go to newegg.com, drives are cheap. I just picked up a dual layer, litescribe dvd burner for under $50, you can get a regular dvd burner for prob. under $20.

There is a good chance your drive is now DOA. Buy a new one. In the future, try not to let your CDs or DVDs sit in the sun for too long, and don't store them in damp places or warm places.

I buy a new drive. It will likely be a BETTER drive than the one you have almost certainly had damaged by the destroyed CD and it will only cost $20-$30 if you order from a vendor like http://www.newegg.com/

Well, I thankfull don't have any experence in this, but I'd sugges you take the drive out of the computer, and vacuum it out, then open it and shake the rest our, might be better to do that in reverse! If you don't want to take the drive out ten open it, and try to shake it out, just don't drop it, or mess anything else up! Using the corner piece of the vacuume cleaner might work if your not taking it out.

Remove the drive frm the system & open it only if the waranty is over or the waranty void if the seal is broken. So open only if the waranty is over clean it and replace it simple.
