How much difference?

would Ted Williams' career statistics look like if he had not spent 3 yrs in WW 2 and 2 yrs in Korea[missed the equivalent of 4 and1/2 yrs from his MLB career]?

Update:

NO DOUBT HE WOULD HAVE IN THE TOP 5 OR BETTER IN RUNS, HITS, RBI'S AND HRS - HIS MILITARY CAREER DID COSTS HIM STAT NUMBERS

If you conservatively estimate 35 HR/year and 140 RBI for 1943-1945, and about 30 HR/year and 95 RBI for 1952-1953, he ends up with about 675 homers (wow!) and about 2400 RBI (wow again). Chances are his actual stats would have been better than that, though. Who knows - he might have threatened for 700 home runs. And we KNOW he didn't use steroids.

He averaged about 30 HRs a year, so he would have had less than Willie Mays, maybe about 630 HRs.
