You JUST received a VIOLATION EMAIL... HOW LONG ago ....?

So, you've JUST been reported for a VIOLATION! Your blood is RACING through your veins!! You read the email, and see that your question, or answer that was deleted was something you asked/answered LONG AGO.

HOW LONG ago has been the longest time that a question/answer was deleted?

Did you appeal? Was it reinstated? Do you feel a TIME LIMIT should be imposed (not on the "major" offenses, but the "subjective" ones, for sure)? If so, how long should that time limit be?

    Favorite Answer

    I got one yesterday.

The question was "Who is your favorite MLB team?"

My answer was "My favorite team always has been and always will be the Boston Red Sox."

Supposedly, that was "Insulting other members" I don't see how that was insulting anyone, so I appealed it. But I'm sure it won't do any good. I don't think Y!A even looks at the questions or answers being reported...or the appeals they recieve.

2 weeks after my question was closed, I received a violation. I understand how my question was 'soliciting', but it was for charity. I asked for people who cared about wildlife to sign an online petition to ban snares, and posted a link. Who was I hurting? Who would want to violate a question related to a charity? And after it was closed too?

There are some sad people out there.

I think that if a question has been closed for more than a week, then it can not be reported unless it something to do with terrorism or the like. And I think people who violate more than a certain amount of times in a week should get a warning of violation themselves, then perhaps they would only report the questions that really go against the rules.

  • A few weeks at most.

I got one yesterday, and the reason was that it wasn't a question or answer? Huh??? It was an answer, and it was posted to a legitimate question. And to top it off, it was a serious answer -- no humor involved.

Very puzzling. However, my blood didn't boil, as happens to to some people. I like YA, but I don't invest myself in it.

I just got a violation notice the other day. Did not even read it, just deleted it. I know that alot of people are frustrated because of them, but some people just love to report others.

I received a violation for an answer i gave nine months ago on a question where i was the Best Answer.

I appeal EVERY violation I receive, but I never got the courtesy of a reply, as though i expected anything different.

keep in mind these are the same folks who suspended me for saying "oink, oink" in the body of an answer. Nothing they do surprises me

too many kids on this thing. instead of policing questions / answers that are only offensive to someone that doesn't agree, up tight people w/ no sense of humor or kids ruining the place...... they should be running the kids off.

    And it had no reason.

I received one earlier this week for "chatting" about an earthquake. I had to google to see when said earthquake even occurred. It happened on October 31, 2007 and it was quite big for our area.

I did not appeal. I unwittingly goofed, I guess. Others did, too, but oh, well...

3 days ago. It was for solicitation. I wanted people to know about FreeRice.

EDIT: Today, for chatting. I asked "Do you have a game-used item."

I had a violation for a question of 6 months ago. It used to bother me but now i could care less b/c I'm not going to let a buch of Answer addicted losers who takes this board too seriously & act as if Yahoo will give them a paying job for thinking Yahoo can't do no wrong piss me off & give them satisfaction. It's so sad that they have nothing better in their lives to do.
