Lost baggage, how long did it take to get it back?
I was hoping some people can give my some insight on lost baggage. How many days did it take them to find it and get it to you? I flew into Michigan from Charlotte last night and only one of my bags made it. Naturally, it was the bag with my pillow (can't sleep with out it!) and the birthday presents for my neice and nephew. So, now I am in snowy, cold Michigan with a short sleeved shirt, jeans and sandals!! No coat, no clothes, nothing! I fly many times a year and never had this problem. I usually fly AirTran and this time I flew Continental for the very first time.
So, how long did it take you to get your bag(s) back? Just curious of other people's experience.
And, how difficult was it to get reimbursed for your belongings if they never found it?

I have had them lose my luggage twice and the first time I never got it back and getting reimbursed for it turned out to be such a hassle and it was just not worth it so after months I just said to he!! with it and let them keep it and then while going on my honeymoon they lost my luggage ,but they had it to me by the next day,it for some reason was put on a different plane. So I never put anything into a suitcase that has a lot of value and I always carry my coat and a change of clothes in a carry on so if they lose my bags I at least have my coat and a change of clothes
Good luck

That's the exact reason why I do not take more than I need on a trip. I took a trip to Cleveland Ohio and they had "misplaced" 2 luggage bags. One of them ended up in Atlanta and I got it back the next day. The 2nd bag was never recovered. That bag was my wifes. Boy, was she angry! It took almost 2 months before she was reimbursed a small amount of money. It was a big headache and don't wish it on anyone. They really need to make it so that the passenger of the plane puts their own luggage on the darn plane. At least you now it's there!! I would not mind doing that myself. Good luck!!

it depends when the lost baggage goes thorugh a scan, whether the people think there's any problems with it (ie anyhing looking dangerous in it)
im not sure about the reimbursed part....
