do you consider this disrespectful? asking performers, but open to all?
trying to make it brief.
we attended a live performance with a stage venue ( not a bar), and were very upset with the people sitting behind us, talking through the whole performance, very loudly with gossipy he-said she-said crap, after giving them the shhh, they got louder
not only were we pissed that our experience was tainted, but we consider this very disrespectful to the band who showed up to play
how do performers feel about this type of people in their audience?
this was a paid performance, by The Steve Miller band

It's been a long time since I've been on stage, but yes it is very rude and inconsiderate. The performers are used to such idiotic behaviour and will more or less tune it out. However, the staff should have removed those people from the area.

I feel that performers have every right to feel cheated, disrepected by those who do, say and perform distasteful things when a performer has worked hard on his/her work.
I feel that those people who show this disrespect should be shown the door.

Hate it!!! esp if I'm doing an acoustic show I can hear them and can get distracted. But when there's alcohol there's bound to be at least one jacka.s.s in the crowd. It is disrespectful and instead of Shhing them just give them a look and if that doesn't work ask your waitress to take care of it instead of making yourself the bad guy. That seems to work out better.

yes it is certainly disrespectful...especially if the entrance is free there are lots of people in the audience who just came to waste their time and gossip...there's no much you can do than go on playing even for a couple of people who really came to listen to you....the performer should respect the audience and the audience the performer ;)

I t would have been awesome if the band had stopped, and asked for them to be escorted out.
