Asking performers, but open to all. Do you consider this disrespectful?
trying to make it brief.
we attended a live performance with a stage venue ( not a bar), and were very upset with the people sitting behind us, talking through the whole performance, very loudly with gossipy he-said she-said crap, after giving them the shhh, they got louder
not only were we pissed that our experience was tainted, but we consider this very disrespectful to the band who showed up to play
how do performers feel about this type of people in their audience?
this was a paid performance, by The Steve Miller band

Yes, that is really rude. The only time that is appropriate is if it's a bar or coffee shop, or an outdoor "music in the park" kind of thing. Even then, conversation should be kept to a low volume out of respect for the other attenders and the performers.

I would be more upset with the venue and the sound system, it should be loud enough to where you dont really here the people sitting behind you.
