can i give my baby cereal or oats?
my doc told me my 5mo old baby could start on cerelac. unfortunately, all the cerelac that's sold in my country contains milk or milk iingredients to which my baby is allergic to (found out when she broke out in rashes when i was still drinking milk and breastfeeding her).
so my question is, can i just grind some regular cereal or oats, cook em and give my baby that instead? i still breastfeed by the way.
things i already do: give her a taste (half teasepoon) of different food once a day (e.g. mashed potato, squash, carrot, mashed rice).

Your baby does not need cereal,give her foods with iron,that is what she needs from the cereal.Spinach is great for iron,but you are still breastfeeding she does not need to start solids anytime soon,I would just keep up with the bf, that has all the nutrition she needs.Most baby's grow out of there casein protein allergy's by 1 year,you can try her around 10 or 11 months,one of my daughters had this allergy and she was fine by 11 months with no more allergy and she had vary bad symptoms,she vomited,diarha,and bloody stools.She was breastfed for 16 months and I enjoyed dairy again at 11 months,I also started her on solids at 9 months and never gave her cereal

Our bubs also has dairy issues, so i intend to just leave the cereal out. Early foods are more about experimenting with new tastes and textures, as your breastmilk is more than adequate for their nutritional requirements. I would just continue with the fresh veg/fruit purees that you are giving bubs already
