I'm in Dallas for one more night. Where is a great local place to eat?

I've eaten at Spring Creek and Chipotle's and those were great. I am just looking for another great place to eat, it can be fast food or more formal.

Update:

Just give me one place, your favorite, and a brief explanation of what it is please.

There are tons of great places to eat in Dallas, it all depends on what you're looking for. Here are a few suggestions:

    Aw Shucks (seafood)

    3601 Greenville Ave.

    Dallas, TX 75206

    214-821-9449

    www.awshucksdallas.com

This place is really inexpensive and really casual. Dallas folks love it and actually I'm from San Antonio and no place compares to this one. You have to try their boiled crawfish. Simply delicious. You might get your hands a little dirty but it's all worth it.

    Banana Leaf (Thai)

    17370 Preston Rd

    Dallas, TX 75252

    972-713-0123

    www.thaibananaleaf.com

It has been rated number one in Dallas for several years. I love their Pad Thai and Pad See Iew. Their Pad Thai is the best that I've ever had. Oh and the serving staff is really great there, very friendly. Moderately priced.

    Bob's Steakhouse

    4300 Lemmon Avenue @Wylcliff

    Dallas, Texas 75219

    214-528-9446

    www.bobs-steakandchop.com

Really great steak. Made exactly as you want it. You'll need to make reservations though. It's a pretty pricey place but it's a favorite in Dallas for steak.

    Sushi Sake (Japanese)

    2150 N Collins Blvd

    Richardson, TX 75080

    972-470-0722

    www.sushi-sake.com

Really great sushi and you kind find lots of traditional Japanese dishes here. Lunch specials are great too. Try their Tonkatsu which is fried pork cutlet, delicious. Mid-priced.

    First Chinese Barbeque (Chinese)

    3304 Coit Rd Ste 200

    Plano, TX 75023

Great authentic Chinese food. I'm a big fan of their Wonton Noodle soup. Put some red vinegar in your spoon and dip the noodles in there while you eat. It's the way my dad always ate it and it's the best way to eat Wonton Noodle soup. Not sure if you like roast duck or chicken but they have the best. The flavor is just to die for. :-) Casual and affordable.

    Chaat Cafe (Indian)

    18101 Preston Rd.

    Dallas, TX 75252

    972-713-0003

My new favorite in Dallas. Met the owner once, really great guy and the food is really good. I always get either their Buttery Chicken or Chicken Tikka Masala. I'm not big on things that taste too curry-ish so I really like how they make these dishes. Great taste. Casual and affordable.

    Zorba's Greek Cafe (Greek)

1501 Preston Rd. Plano, TX. 75093

    972-250-0002

    http://www.zorbasplano.com/

My favorite thing here is definitely their Babaganoush. I had never had Babaganoush before and once I tried it here I was addicted and it's my Mom's favorite as well. We've tried it from other places and they just don't taste right. Zorba's definitely got it right. I also like to get their Chicken Gyro Platter. Yum. Really affordable.

    Steak and Shake (Fast Food)

    www.steaknshake.com/

Just in case you're on the run, try Steak and Shake. I always always get their Frisco Melt and their cheese fries.

    Sonny Bryans (Barbeque)

    http://www.sonnybryans.com/

Great barbeque. Tasty, tender brisket... got to love it.

    Obzeet (American)

    19020 Preston Rd

    Dallas, TX 75252

    972-867-6126

    www.obzeet.com

One of Dallas' hidden treasures. They usually have a live-band on their back patio. In the front it looks like an antique shop but actually it's a great casual American restaurant and music venue. Bar and music is in the back. Very popular among the locals. Their Honey Smoked Salmon sandwich a croissant is really good. Plus they have great happy hour specials.

    Patrizio (Italian)

    25 Highland Park Vlg

    Dallas, TX 75205-2789

    214-522-7878

    http://dallas.citysearch.com/profile/9585217

Very popular. People go where the food is good. Simply great Italian food. You could get just about anything on the menu, it's all very good.

Well, I've listed all my favorites. Hope this helps you out. Good Eating!

If you're adventurous then try Hattie's in Oak Cliff... the food isn't adventurous but a lot of people are afraid of Oak Cliff (its not that bad, just a working class neighborhood). Its Southern cuisine and a little pricey (but worth it) and semi-formal but they don't have a dress code.

Its on Bishop Ave between Jefferson and Davis... in the Bishop Arts District (a great eclectic shopping area of 100 year old brick warehouses turned into shops and restaraunts). There's also a great interior Mexican restaraunt there called Vera Cruz... I actually like it more than Hattie's and the prices there are really good. But both are great.

There's also Hibiscus on Knox-Henderson off of 75. Very expensive but incredibly good... If you like sushi then go to Steele (don't remember the streets there but its around uptown). I love sushi and its as good as the sushi I have eaten it in Japan and San Francisco and Maui... The chefs there and the fish buyers for the restaurant are very particular and its very reasonable.

Dallas has a great restaraunt scene... if you want something in particular then just send me a note. I eat out 3 times a week and like just about any kind of food out there.
