15 weeks......people average 2 lbs/week. Of course some people can lose weight faster than others. It also depends on how big you are.....the fatter you are, the faster you lose weight....if your 5% body fat, it takes a while to get to 4%......someone who is 30% bodyfat can get to prob 20% quicker than that person trying to get to 4% from 5%.

That depends on how much you now weigh, and which diet you are on...

If you are serious and truly wish to lose thirty pounds you can do it within 6 - 8 weeks.

You have to really want it, focus on it in your spare time using visualizations. That is to picture yourself as your desired weight in your mind always! Anytrime you think of yourself the image must be clear as to the size you wish to be.

Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Especially those with fiber. And most importantly drink lots of water. Iced water will speed up your metabolism quicker.

Get plenty of exercise. Swim, dance, yoga, tennis. Just do more of the activities you already enjoy.

Have faith and belief that you will lose this 30 pounds. No need for a scale. You know you can do this, and you are so certain of it you feel as if you already have!

It is recommended that you loose no more than 2 pounds per week with proper diet and exercise. If you stick to this you will be more likely to keep the weight off once you've lost it. Yes, it is possible to loose more than 2 pounds per week, but if you do a crash / fad diet you will most likely gain it back.

So - 30 lbs at 2 lbs per week = 15 weeks, or a little over 3 months.
