Do you believe in ghosts? Have you seen them here in the UAE/ if so how was the experience??
I'm asking this q in all seriousness, neither trying to bring humour to this otherwise dull and all-dry UAE YA forum, nor in bid to scare someone away.

I do believe, yet I do not want to!
I keep contradicting myself in this issue.
Anyhow, I've heard loads of rumors about seeing Ghosts in the Northern Emirates; especially in caves of the Al Hajjar Mountains. It has also been stereotyped that Oman is filled with ghosts and wizards; I mean people that deal with ghosts and communicate with them.
I'm always happy to answer questions that are not about visas, cost of living, accommodation, and ***.
Take Care! ;)

Fanano
-Edit: h, it's always great to have someone that shares my same point of view ! :)

I do not believe in ghosts at all. Maybe that's the reason that I never seen one.
Guess believing in ghosts etc. depends how somebody was brought up. Of course I heard about certain things regarding ghosts but that does not mean I have to believe it. Certain people are in a mentaly mind to see/believe things what others can't. Example: A widow (mentally not very strong) can be easily be influecened to hear frome her dead husband (ghost) through a medium.
To be able to receive messages from ghosts, means you have to believe in them first and I do not.
All this ghosts, miracle and wonders storries only happen to people who do believe in it. I do not belong this group.
But - I do agree a 100% on Fanano's last lines.
Take care and come up with something else interesting not visa and living costs related.
Take care.

hi well my cousins had to move because of a ghost.(TRUE STORY DONT LAUGH)
They bought a big house in toronto that was really cheap.
They move in and 1-2 years later things start moving and 1 day his mom is sleeping and as she wakes up there is a ghost ( BTW THEY ARE BLACK NOT WHITE) trying to shock her. ANd 1 time my cousin is downstairs and the door keeps shutting and there is no wind. At 1 point he got so frustrated he went to look and there was the ghost. THey went to to real estate agent and they explained the situation and the dealer was gone, HE KNEW ABOUT IT. Anyways now they live in another house.
Believe or dont
JUST DONT LAUGH

dear yes i do beleive in ghosts, i've come across with couple of incidences myself, but thanks to ALLAH Subhano wa ta'ala tht nothing wrong/bad happened.
Just on 20th of March 2008 i was with some friends in mood to explore the mountains of HATTA and some part of Oman.................... All was well, but at night when we were trying to find the way of a picnic spot, we came across something strange, i havn't seen the ghosts at tht time but felt something unusual and turned back.
ALLAH knows wht was it, but we know tht was the point when all of us felt something not as normal.
By the way the next day i went there again specially to c as wht was there, but found nothing other than silence, a silence tht enters into ur heart and u feel those depths calling u!!!

Not really although I do entertain the idea that they exist =))
My friend claims DWTC is haunted by a white lady who roams along the quiet exhibition halls at night. Not sure though but he said several of the night staff have sworn seeing the apparition.
Maybe you can stake out in DWTC at the dead of the night to check if it's true.
-- and hey! yes this is indeed one interesting Q.
cheers!

I've never seen them, but I've been with people who have. I'm Australian and I was raised not to believe in such things. The people who have seen them are Asian and they expect to see ghosts.
I think people from different backgrounds have different perceptions.
