Should RTV shows be about quality not quantity?

Just about any time you switch on the tv there are numerous reality shows on several channels. Has this increasing number spoiled the quality of the shows as they all try to compete against each other, or do you prefer the wider choice of RTV shows?

i think they went too far with it all when we got love island. basically watching people in a villa on holiday and waiting to see if they would do it!! it does really bug me that they put them on at the same time. the bbc is supposed to be our channel yet every year they do not listen to the public and go head to head with x factor when they are showing scd. it stands to reason that if you like one then you will like the other and if they had different start times then we would watch both instead of having to pick one or the other and the viewing figures would be even higher.

Well it doesn't really matter to me Major because I can only get four channels so my viewing of RTV is limited! There does seem to be an awful lot of them these days though and of the ones I can view I am selective at what I watch.

Before anyone says anything about a Freeview Box - they don't work in my area!!

Total agree as the market is now flooded and so therefor becoming quantity rather than quality.

GOOD: Both the dancing ones remain OK, I'm a Celebrity get me out of here classic last year and BB8

BAD: have to say this X Factor and Idol now need revamping

UGLY: BB Hijack we need to go back to celebrity BB and Celebrity sizzorhands crap.

I want variety but good variety quality not quantity

  • Good question Sarge..... I think we need some more quantiity.. because although quality may be better ... i think this section needs more saturation...

...as some people need a distraction from the current RTV remake of ..Get BAd (out)

I'm not too sure where all of these so called celebritys come from and why people like them. We have murderers and criminals acting in soaps we have fraudsters and bullying racists on reality shows, it must say something about the human race but I am not sure what.

No..reality show have always sucked from day one....

And there is no reality inside any of those reality tv shows...

Anyone that thinks what they're are seeing has not been edited or taken out of context ...really needs to wake up....

I think I prefer all the choice if I'm honest. Not all of them appeal to me, but as a reality junkie, alot do and I can record 2 and watch a 3rd , if necessary lol.

I think quality, they think quanity.

All these reality shows, some are original but they make so many of the same shows its just AHH.

Yes they should be about quality - there are too many spin-off and copy-cat programmes that are just about making money for the TV companies.
