Ricky Hatton vs Kirkland Lang who wins?
Hatton has won a world title at welterweight something that Lang never managed and is by far the more consistant fighter. But could he have beat "the gifted one" if he was in the same form that beat Duran back in 1983. Over 12 rounds welterweight who wins.
Neil i think your getting Kirkland Lang mixed up with someone else. He retired years ago and is about 50 now so i cant see him beating Hatton currently lol. Its just a hypotetical question take the Lang that fought Duran vs the Hatton that fought Mayweather. Thanks.

Interesting question? You have to remember that Hatton is/was only at his best at light welter and struggled in all his fights at the bigger weight, whereas Lang was a proper welterweight, who was beating Colin Jones easily twice(remember him?) before getting caught...Jones could punch much harder than Hatton, although he was'nt as skillful as Ricky. Lang's win over an overweight Duran does not prove anything...If I remember clearly, he was knocked out in his very next fight by Fred Hutchings, who at the time was still a novice fighter, whereas Roberto got his act together and won the WBA Junior middleweight title against (the late) Davey Moore 3 fights and 9 months later. If Lang could stay out the way, he could win, as I am not sure that Ricky could knock Kirkland out (Lang was only stopped by big punchers like Jones ,or physically bigger fighters, like Hutchings), although he could probably outwork Lang and win on points (if the ref is Mickey Vann!)

Very capable fighter Kirkland,I met him a few times in some of the dives round east London years ago. This is a very good and difficult question and one Ive had to think hard about, but if he was at his best he'd have beat Ricky comfortably on points(Duran style)but if he went into the fight stoned out his tree(which was often!)Rick would have KO'd Kirkland!Depends if Kirkland was in the mood, were as Ricky is always in the mood,Whatever I hope Liang is OK now as last I heard of him he was in a bad fall out of his flat window, pixxx and nearly died!

At this present moment.....Kirkland Lang!
I'm a bit worried abour Ricky's state of mind at the moment after the beating he took by Mayweather....
Ricky's next fight will be a key one but he is fighting at "home" so he should be right!

hatten without a question..lang(back in his prime ofcourse) couldnt handle the barrage of punches that hatten would be throwing..and as hard a hitter as duran was, i give the edge to hatten..
