Do you "own pets" or do you have non-human family members?

caretaker would best describe most people like me who have many pets,2 dog's,1 cat and now down to 4 birds(from 6 ).

From a legal standpoint, I consider myself to be an owner....but the dogs are the small furry kids we never had... But the fish? We own them as pets. The horses....kind of tap dance on a delicate line back and forth.... The barn cats? Since they just showed up....I think it's one of those things. People see a place with horses and think that's "THE" place to dump a cat off at. Anyway, I suppose they're our responsibility since we took them in to be spayed so they wouldn't reproduce, but I certainly don't consider them to be "non-human family members". Most of them you can't even get a hand on, they just show up to be fed. Maybe that's wrong, I don't know...

Owner, thank god. Family has two German Shepherds, one pitt, one dachshund/terrier mix, and a rat terrier. Parents have a farm with all the regular animals like the cows, horses,etc. I can't even imagine being without animals.

My son is an eleven year old dachshund! And he's spoiled rotten!

my dog is my sister's son. he's my nephew and my mother's grandson. hahaha not kidding at all. he's a pitbull but hes a big baby :)

my lil yorkie is my son!! and i'm his mother!! he is my little baby!! and i treat him just like one too!! he is childish too!! i love it! i love him!!! i dont know what i'd do with out him!!
