What's the worst job you've ever had?

What made it so bad?

Thanks everyone.

Update:

I love that yahoo has already chosen an answer for me by suggesting that I place this in the "Food Service" category. Hahaha.

I've only ever had one job so I guess the worst and coolest job I ever had was assembling transformer units. Actually though, it was neither bad nor cool, just boring. All I had to do was cut some wires to the right length, screw on a frame and put on some tape, or either seal on a tray with a banding seal, and sorter some terminals onto the end of the wires...you probably have no idea what I'm talking about though lol

working in a high pressure enviroment where i could not relax, stop, have water, restroom,

I worked in a retail enviroment where the the company make sure we were always understaffed.

It meant... u were constantly on the go for 8.5 hours in a harshly lit air con enviroment, u had to keep apologising to customers for taking time to get to them and for the queue cos there was no people.... The bad thing was,.. there were people, the manager was fat and lazy and just sat in that back on the phone even though he could see distress on me and the customers.

The attitude was... sit in the back, let the lower ones work the shop front, the customers and the tills, so u would have the two teachers pets in the back chatting to the manager while I sweated, rushed, paniced and worked my *** off at the retail customer front, no teamwork, no help.

The worst was the times you had to go to the back stock room and you would see three people who should be helping, standing around chatting, laughing. And u have to wipe the sweat from your brow, rub your burning eyes and try to smile to them through you dry air con burning skin.

id say most people can deal with dirt, filth, hard labour, but high pressure, social pressure, fighting against corruption and what is wrong is very very difficult.

I wish I was stronger and braver.

TV cable installer. This goes back a while to when the last of the dinosaurs were roaming the earth. I was 17 making $4.50 per hour hanging off 20 floor balconies with a safety rope. One time one of the three twines of the safety rope snapped while drilling into an apartment. I couldn't believe the adrenaline and the grip I had on that balcony. A few days later I was on scaffolding and the lines got caught and the scaffolding dropped 4 ft. I nearly fell out. I asked them to lower the scaffolding, walked off the job-site to never return. I shake my head when I think about it. I never used to be afraid of heights before then. The boss excelled at being a u know what and deserved a trophy with buttocks on it. You couldn't pay me enuff to that job now.

Anoter job I had was manufacturing brake pads..it was nite shift, the pads came out of the oven in 30lb hot metal molds and u would lift them off the line to a metal table undo pressurized springs remove the brake pads and hang the mold back up on the line. You worked adjacent to the ovens and the fellow who was training me looked over at me at one point and said "I've been doing this for 7 yrs". I would have liked to have someone take my picture to see the reaction on my face immortalized. It was a true kodak moment. I lasted 3 hours. I think about that guy once in a while and wonder why they haven't written a country song about him. Hmm I wonder if he is still there?

I delivered newspapers. The work was heavy. I had to roll them in a bag and deliver them. Every bag weighed about 2 pounds! Multiply that by 58 homes. What's worse is that I get paid about 50 dollars a month for 4 times of this terrible labour. Huge ripoff!

My worst job was working the night shift at a 7-11. What made it the worst was cleaning up after drunks and dealing with people who couldn't figure out how to work the pumps and just knew it was my fault somehow.

I worked as a secretary for an independent CPA. She was a NAZI! Every single thing had to be EXACTLY correct or in the right place. She got on to me about something... multiple things every single day. And I'm no moron! I'm a college graduate and a very competent employee.

i am 14, so the only jobs i have had would be pet sitting, baby sitting, and community service.

i enjoy babysitting... the kids are extremely cute.

community service is amazing... i help others and get a 100% in english class.

so, i would have to say pet sitting... out of the three, it's the least fun.

I worked as a cook one summer when I was 16. I applied for the dishwasher position, but the owner made me a cook. And he wonders why they went out of business.
