Go to Ebay and see what pennies at comparable conditions are selling for. You arent' going to get rich with a 1917 penny but at least you'll know what the market price is.

actually the penny costs the tax payer to make ,, roughly for 100 million in pennies it cost 200million to create , so the penny is in debt even before it go's out into circulation , at my last market value at the current time the penny is lucky to be worth 1/10 of its face value , as is the dollar is roughly 4 cents to it's face value...

With today's diminishing dollar value, it's actually worth a about 3/4 of a cent.

there seems to be a couple different versions so it depends on which one you have. one sold for like $34 then there were some that sold in the hundreds. check out that site.
