If you can change any rule/penalty in the NFL, what would it be and why?
I would change the O.T part. The coin toss in most cases decides who wins the game, I think that over time should end when the clock runs out, it shouldnt be whoever scores first wins.
Also, I think that penaltys should be able to be challenged, but there would be a maxiumum of about 2 challenges. In many cases, false penalties called by the refs can change the game when there was actually no penalty, such as in the Chargers vs. Colts playoff game when Cromartie intercepted the ball, and ran it all the way for a touchdown but the ref called a holding call for no reason, and that could of costed us the game, even though it didnt, or when the Ravens lost the game against the pats, when Brady threw the ball to a reciever and he bobbled it out of bounds and it was ruled as a TD.

I concur with your OT rule.
Also when the kicker or the punter kicks the ball in the end zone it should be brought back to the 05 or 10 yard line instead of 20 yard line.

Defiantly the OT rule. I would make it high school rules where each team has 4 plays to get in the end-zone except it would start at the 20 yard line. I would also change the way the NFL handles the playoffs. Make teams ranked. For example there are 16 teams in each conference, and 4 in each division. So in each conference make a 6 team rank. Another example last years AFC playoffs: 1. Patriots 2. Colts 3. Chargers 4. Steelers
5. Jaguars 6. Titans. And start around the 5th or 6th week. I hope this would happen.

I would change that when the ref blows a whistle or play dead and there is a turn over they can review and get the play right instead of it just being tuff luck. Like when Al Harris took the ball away from T.O. and managed to maintain possession before going out of bounds, but the ball didn't change hands because the idiot official blew the play dead. Also the rule that makes no sense, but not sure if I'd change it or not is when a QB spikes the ball to stop the clock, why isn't that intentional grounding?

They don't change divisions for that reason. Divisions change because of expansion teams. The last time they changed the divisions was because expansion teams were added (the Texans, and the Browns I believe.) Jacksonville and Carolina where added in the early 90s. It used to be the AFC and NFC West, Central, and East. When the league acquired 32 teams, the divisions were changed to how it is today. 8 divisions of 4 teams. It works out really well now, because there are no more divisions with 5 teams. Before the AFC east, and the AFC west had 5 teams, and the AFC central had 4 teams. The NFC east and NFC central had 5 teams, and the NFC west had 4 teams. They won't change the divisions because of team dominance. Some teams have been division rivals since they were founded.

I like your OT rule a lot. The NFL should also have a different way of calling penalties, and close out-of-bounds calls. I think they should have the booth's input on each play, no matter how much it would change the game.

I would like to see less of the celebration crap that happens on TD's, Sacks etc. These are pros for goodness sake, they need to act like they have done it before and besides they are getting paid millions to make plays. Should a guy working in at a store as a check out clerk be doing a dance and generally acting like an utter a$$ because he rang up your order? No, then neither should these NFL players.

Instant Replay.
Because every time it happens we end up in commercial break!!!
Other then that.. I think the O line should be allowed to reset themselves without having a penalty or even move around like the D line does.

I think the clock should stop when the play ends. The current rule only allows for 5-8 minutes of actual play time. And have you seen the prices for a pro game that has only 5-8 minutes of action. We need more bang for our buck.

I agree with your OT rule, also its not so much a rule, but I would like to see..... whoever wins the SuperBowl, the following years SuperBowl should be played at their stadium. It would bring deserved revenue to their city... and if you make it to the SuperBowl 2 years in a row, you would have home field advantage.

I would let the coaches challenge bad calls on penalties....even though they are judgement calls. Games shouldn't be determined by bone-head refs.
