Do you think actors are really like the characters they play??

For instance when an actor /actress plays a bad character in a T.V. show do you think that they are really like that in real life? I watch The pretender and I can just see mr. rains as the crotchety evil old bad guy in real life.

Well, you can't take on a role without some part of the role being a part of you, however, it isn't them entirely... I mean at some point they have to put down the axe and ice hook and say CUT!

No, they are just acting. They might possess some of their qualities, but overall they have their own lives.

No, it's just that when you act you have to somehow become that character.
