Not sure, but if you have children under 5 or elderly people then they must leave you with some form of heating.
Get back onto them. 3 weeks at this time of year is unacceptable for anyone to go without heating

If there are children or elderly people living in the house it should be sorted straight away. Contact you council and complain. Ask them to supply you with another form of heating. (They can do this.) Contact the citizens advice bureau also. They will advise you and may even contact the council on your behalf.

I was bought up in a house that had no central heating and that house is still standing havent you got a gas fire you can just heat one room with a portable heater that your council should have supplied

if you have children or are over 65 i think you get preferantial treatment - ring every single day until they come and fix it - the more you complain the quicker they will come. go on your councils internet site and see how to make a complaint.
If you have children talk to their school and see if they can write a letter also talk to your GP whatever your age and ask him to write a letter of support
Right letter to manager and your MP. do not be aggresive or rude.

they should get round to it within 3 weeks from you reporting the problem they have 20 days to sort it, ring them and remind them it maybe the plumber that has misplaced your details not the actual council.
