What is this for? Ahm.. Here are some of my favorites.

    "Waa... Sugoi!" -Wow...Cool!

    "Kyuukyuusha" -Ambulance

"Onaka ga pekopeko desu!" -I'm hungry!

    "Shimpai shinaide!" -Don't worry!

    "Tako" - Octopus

"Chyuu" -Squeak; the noise a mouse makes

"Kowai" -Scary; often mixed up with kawaii, which is fun... ("Wow, your puppy is scary!")

"Itai, itai, itai!" -It hurts, it hurts, it hurts! ; Ow, ow ow....

EDIT-- Ah! thought of another fun category-- English Words That are "Japanized"!

    -Hotto Doggu - Hot Dog

    -Hanbagaa - Hamburger

    -Jyaketto - Jacket

    -Dei Bui Dei - DVD

Whenever kids in my Japanese class ask our sensei for a modern word in Japanese, we always brace ourselves for a really simple, borrowed word.
