What transmission will I need to put a 5.9L Cummins 6B from a 91-93 Medium duty Ford truck into a 91 F-350?
I have a '91 F-350 that I am converting to diesel, I want to use the Cummins 6B 5.9L designed for medium duty Ford trucks. I have a 460 and E4OD transmission. I will be buying a re-manufactured motor for the conversion so I have a few different configurations to choose from. But I am unsure as to what transmissions are available for this application.

As far as automatic your looking at the 47RH, 47RE, 48RE. For manuals from 99 up a 6 speed was available, There was also a 5 speed made by Getrag, I would not recommend the Getrag do to parts issues. Good luck.
