** Why are SOME Dads/Brothers so protective when it comes to their Daughters/Sisters and boys?

it is to protect your honor, and to be sure you are respected... I have 4 daughters...

girls are precious to fathers, and i think both brothers and Dads don't want to see their girls get hurt by some other guy in their life. They know what boys are like... brothers and dad's were boys once. It hurts to see someone special to them end up with another man in their life and risk the chance of being broken hearted in the end...Dads and brothers are the first men in a girls life that they can depend on always.

I think this is because they know how they acted around girls and what they do or did . By knowing this they know what other guys will go or try. Also, they don't wanting you to get hurt or fall in love with someone that doesn't love you...Well that what I think....My little brother is protective too...lol

Simply because they want to protect you ...in alot of men eyes that still see women as weak (not a good word because it might offend some women) they love you and just want to keep you safe and to keep you from making mistakes.As for brothers doing it ...it is something they learned from dad's actions.

because being both of the same sexes, they know all the things that boys are capable of doing. that is why they tend to be over protective to their sisters/daughters. also we have this thing called "karma", maybe what they did to their previous relationships, they dont like it to happen to their offspring.

b/c they want 2 make sure u don't get hurt...they know what they were like when they were younger and they dont want a guy 2 play u....i know it sucks my dad and older bro are extreamly protective...but in a way its kinda good cause it scares off the bad guys and the guys that dont just want sex usually stick around

well we like to protect all the other girls in our house- i have three sisters and i know they can be pains but when they are in trouble im there to help its just kind of a male instinct thing

They just are used to you being the little Innocent one, that they are used to watching out for and looking after, they find it hard to accept that you may not need them to watch out for you like they did. Old habits die hard. Don't worry just live your life, and enjoy the fact that they care so much about you.
