If the EU does not like what is said or done by another country or leader (against it's interests), it does not wait for it's citizens to boycott - it forces sanctions. Sanctions hurt the majority whilst allegedly aimed at leaders. Islam to Muslims is more important than anything else, therefore if someone wants to boycott, please do so. If Muslims don't speak out, more stupid people with privileged positions will come up with hate rhetoric. There is clearly an agenda against Muslims living in the west, no sensible person can deny that - just pick up any newspaper and count the number of articles on Islam or Muslims. The fact is many Muslims in the west are suffering because of hate campaign in the Media and by right wing politicians. Many Muslims have spoken out against extremist elements in their communities (who are later arrested and imprisoned). However, extremists speaking of hate against Muslims have seats in Parliament or never punished...it stinks. Luckily, there are enough decent ordinary people in European countries who see through this nonsense and speak out. All we need now is for the people who promote hate (on all sides) punished the same. One law for everyone please.

Before you even start talking about boycot..... here's some background info!
We have a member of parliament here who is very opposed to Muslims..... Geert Wilders. He stated things like Islam is a fascist religion, he said the Qur'an is a book of hate and 2/3 of it should torn up........
He's a coward, hiding behind bodyguards, just spewing verbal s**t...... More than one Islamic organisation here has invited him for a discussion about Islam..... he denies always saying: 'You can't discuss anything with a Muslim.'
Anyways, he's been talking about making a movie to show and proof that Islam is an aggressive religion. Now mind you, the movie is only 15 mins long, no one knows what the contents are..... and yet everybody is up in arms over it, giving the creep the oh so much wanted attention. Funny thing is, that in a country where the queen can't even burb without everybody knowing it, nobody seems to know anything of the contents of the movie, where it is made, there seem to be no actors, no director, no camera man..........
The government is all up in arms already (and so are some Islamic countries) because they are - rightfully so - scared to get into a situation as Denmark got in to. The government already took it's distance, because they do not wish to insult Muslims and they do not want the world to think this is what the Netherlands thinks about Islam.......
Next to that, they warned him that IF there really is a movie and IF it is insulting to Muslims, he's endangering the lives of many fellow countrymen abroad and is about to damage the Dutch economy. Being the self pompous prick he is, he does not care.
He tried to get his movie televised here, but all the Dutch channels refused. No one wants anything to do with it. The only way for him to broadcast it would be through his own website.....
A lot of people think there is no movie, that he only wants attention and publicity. However, we'll have to wait if there really is a movie..... and if there is how bad it is. Could be a storm in a glass of water, could be something that will hurt our feelings. Let's hope the first option will be the case
.
Even if it would be bad...... are we going to show the world what they think of us already is true? Boycot, burn flags, attack ambassies? so are we gonna show them how violent we are and just proof them right?? Or are are we going to behave like adults..... protest peacefully and show them that Islam is a religion of peace?
It's up to us to show the rest of the world what Islam is about. What will the choice be?
Peace,
Tiffy

It depends. If Wilders' views are a representative of a significant portion of the Dutch voting population, then boycotting Dutch products represents a symbolic protest against this prevalent racism. However, if the majority of the population is against such videos (and cartoons) then we should not punish the whole for the sins of the few.
Has anybody done any studies in public opinion?

In 2006, Sudan ALONE received 130.2-million kroner (about R 195-million) in aid from Denmark and a 500-million kroner humanitarian and reconstruction package is planned through 2009. There are similar figures available for other Muslim countries. Denmark is one of the largest contributers of aid to Muslim countries in the world (at least by size). A boycott is as dumb an idea for Muslims as is Sudan threatening to expel Denmarks peacekeeping force. Go ahead and expel them and boycott their products. I don't imagine that most Danes would object to bringing their peacekeepers home (and out of harms way) and I imagine that any loss that they might suffer from your boycott could be made up for by a suspension of aid for Muslim countries.
Edit: I believe you 100% that the money is squandered. But, my point is not what the Muslims themselves decide to do with the money. That's not the point. The point is that Denmark gives it and could easily suspend this aid (as could everyone else) in order to make up for any losses from your proposed boycott. It doesn't matter where the money goes...only that Denmark could keep it if they chose to.
Also, you are not talking about boycotting America...you are talking about boycotting Denmark. The issue is the money which Denmark (and every other Western country) gives to Muslim countries for various purposes. The amount of aid flowing from the Western countries to Muslim countries is greater than the amount of profit from trade with those countries. We don't have to do that. We can stop.
It means: Don't cut off your own nose just to spite your face. Take from it what you will.

You know, I very much respect Ahmad Deedat in the way of his debates and reflecting on his wisdom, I think that releasing a movie counteracting the effect of what they plan to release
would be an appropriate course of action.
The unfortunate reality is the behaviour of some muslims gives muslims in general a bad image and prevention is usually easier than cure.

You would refuse to buy something you want and need just because it was made by someone who did you no harm but happens to live in the same geographic area as someone who has a belief that you don't agree with?
Wouldn't that be like the U.S. nuking Mecca because some Saudi's attacked the U.S.?
What baffoons and snakes religious asses are.

Yes defiantly boycott their products. I bet all of their accusations/depictions are unfounded, and untrue. Freedom of speech should not include lies, insults especially of whats secrete to others.
