question for everyone...?

in your opinion what is the most difficult and challenging career in the world? for me it's being a mother and a parent and why? because in the world we're living in with so many things that can influence your child whether good or bad,it is only when they are old that you can see if you have brought them well and good ..how about you?

I am a man and I believe I agree with you. The hand that rocks the cradle has the greatest responsibility to the moral fiber of any culture, in any nation. Nothing compares to that.

Thats a very valid point, but as the definition of career is a "profession for which one trains and which is undertaken as a permanent calling," and since most people dont train to be a parent, they just fall into it, no. I think the most difficult and challenging career would be middle/high school teacher. As a parent, you have several kids to take care of, usually about 2 or 3. A teacher has 20 or more kids, who in one hour a day has to teach them whatever their field is. This includes the kids that don't want to learn. Also there are the kids that have parents that arent around, so the teacher may become a surrogate parent. If you fail as a parent, you mess up a kid. If you mess up as a teacher, you mess up 20+... Then get fired.

I am a Peer Support Training Consultant specialising in Trauma, any of the people I work alongside have challenges, and it makes my personal challenges so much more in perspective, but I find it challenging in a very positive way because A) usually this is a male dominated world and B) you need regular holidays cos hearing some of their stuff is traumatic enough for them but can burn people like me out quicker than most jobs. Nurses are also to be admired greatly. When you have spent as muc time in horse piddle as I have, you see the sh*t they endure day in and day out.

I believe the Military is the most difficult career. They are the only people I know who go to work, and get shot at every day. I believe parenting is hard, but it has always been hard. Ask people who lived thru the depression, and had no food for their children on a daily basis. Ask Parents from the sixties who had to deal with the sexual, and drug revolutions in America. Ask settlers who had to bring their kids in a wagon from one end of the country to another while fighting off starvation, robbers, and sickness with no medical help...if you ask me parenting is the easiest it's been in history right now.

the most difficult career in the world is the dedication of a person to do good. to be a martyr, and sacrifice things, life etc. for your faith. like believers found in the bible, such moises, david, solomon, and Jesus. no other "career" will impass such like these people did.

also, do not deny the fact that a father's love versus mother's dedication is both great careers. father, work hard, for his family, while a mother does home and take care children. they are corresponding to each other.

Well if you're talking about an actual career in which you get PAID ... I would have to say a doctor, or a cop in a bad city.

i think being a surgeon u have to have steady hands and remain calm when things go wrong. u cant go to work hungover!!

i think being a housewife doesnt even come close to careers like being a barrister, or engineer or surgeon.
