The question is hard to understand, more detail would be nice.

I'd say the reason your having trouble is because it is a copy of the actual operating system. copies of programs are notorius for losing information. also, without proper Authentification XP will not operate correctly.

just take your $200 and go grab a copy from staples or Officemax

  • yah man its a prirate copy like the other guy said it happened to my friend aswell, but they ripped him off ,he bought his pc from staples about 2years ago and it was advertised comes with windows xp disc, but it was just preloaded ,then his harddrive took a s h i t and he had to reinstall,so long story short, they just gave him a burnt copy, it worked but he couldnt do anyupdates, so i gave him an offical microsoft key code, so bottom line is your will still work , you just need the offical code,NOT a cracked one,id gave you one right now but these a s s holes reading this will report it, so go hang out in messenger chat rooms ,go to games section and enter yahoo fighter room 1 or 2 get to know somepeople, i hang around there and they always exchange key codes for stuff in pm, hope this helps......cho

If by "copy" you mean a Pirated version of XP, you already know the answer. Your iIllegal XP is disfunctional because it IS illegal.

Buy XP, or switch to Linux!!!
