Questions are removed for multiple reasons:

1.) Yahoo! determines that your content is inappropriate and/or in violation of the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines.

2.) The community determines that your content is in violation of the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines.

3.) Your question expired with no answers.

4.) Your question went to voting and the community decided there were no best answers.

5.) You deleted the question or answer yourself.

6.) The best answer to your question was removed by Yahoo! or the community and when this happens the associated question is automatically removed.

In regards to reporting/violations, Y!A's FAQ says that a question or answer will be removed if it's reported by one or more "reliable users." If the circumstance is more serious then the Answers staff may remove a question or answer themselves after reviewing it. However, the majority of the time they're just automatically removed and violation notices are issued, because of the way the Y!A system is designed. I personally feel the whole reporting/violation system needs to be changed because innocent questions and answers will be reported/removed while others, that are extremely offensive, are left alone. PLUS, I know that there are waaaaaay too many trolls disguised as "reliable users" who are out to get other users they don't like by wrongfully reporting them.

Furthermore, people who state their opinions are being reported as well. And Y!A says that having a strong opinion is NOT a justifiable reason for reporting someone. They just ask that users "do not use slurs to refer to groups of people, do not insult other members, and do not act in a belligerent manner towards others" when stating their opinions. Unfortunately other users still do report opinionated questions or answers regardless of the fact that they don't violate any of the community guidelines. This is EXTREMELY frustrating because honest Y!A users shouldn't have to pay the price for report happy trolls!

    Hello,

You have never recieved a violation for a question that was removed from Yahoo! Answers. You should go back and re-read the violation notice you recieved. If you feel there was a problem, be sure to appeal through the links provided in the email.

Most of the questions I see get removed are due to 2 things... 1. There is no actual question, it's more of a comment/rant. 2. The Question was worded in a way that was derogatory, or there were inflamatory comments included with the question.

So if you ask a question like "How do all you athiest feel about burning in Hell for eternity?" it has a chance of getting reported (that's actually a mild example of some of the things I've seen.)

They usually give you a reason why in the e-mail they send you about the violation. Even though I have had a few where they did not give a reason and when I asked, I never got a response. There could be several reasons why they deleted it. You just may never know what the reason is.

it may not have followed the community guide lines whch will also get your question automatiically deleted. if u scroll to the very bottom of the page click on that and maybe read them through. also people will report and that will get questions deleted. check your yahoo email account, maybe that will tell you why.

Yahoo is completely people-oriented. Your questions and answers both are regulated by others. So if someone doesn't like your sh*t, you can 'sayo-nara' it.
