Sucking Helium from a tank? or balloon?
someone told me: sucking helium from a tank could potentially get the compressed air into your lungs and blow your lung sacs, causing to you die. The compressed air gets forced into the lungs and ruptures the air sacs and you drown in your own blood because they air sacs continue to bleed from the ruptures.
i wanted to know is it safe to inhale the helium from a balloon?

yah, balloons are cool.

Yes, from a balloon. The reason is because of the tremendous pressure of the gas from a tank, compared to the little bit of pressure of the gas in a balloon.
Remember that helium doesn't support life, though. There's no oxygen in it. And it doesn't get you high. A little helium breathing just to make a funny voice is harmless.

Sucking Helium from a balloon is a lot safer than sucking from the tank. but is is not a good idea, because of the lack of oxygen. It is kinda cool though, just don't make a habit of it!!

From a balloon is fine. It's never good to inhale anything from a compressed tank.

Sucking from a tank could kill you. Someone was awarded the "Darwin Award" for doing that. It is safe from a balloon... just don't do huge quantities.
