This does happen.
Not only did they torture, they murdered one of them after 36 hours of severe and intensive violence.
The unfortunate thing is that only one soldier was disciplined, the rest got off scot free despite overwhelming evidence of guilt.
They are a disgrace to the military and to us all.

when your balls are on the block! then you do what ever you have to do....grow up. war is not a place for rules. when you consider that the vast majority of casualties and deaths in the first few days were women and little children and no one says a word? and look at the treatment of prisoners by Iraqis. its funny how civilised they become when its going to line their pockets. SO!! ok. when do we start paying out for the women and children then? when do we see real! justice and march Blair into Iraq and hand him over to the people that he's lies butchered? the soldiers are there on orders desperately trying to servive . they arent there out of choice.

It seems that this happens. This is war, not some pub quiz about morality. Put yourself in their position. That's not easy for a start. Then imagine how confusing all the **** going on around them must be. We're not talking about hundreds of cases and I for one, am surprised there hasn't been much more of this going on.

I would rather a few Iraqis get their a$$es beat knowing that a few less IEDs that were capable of killing innocent people were being taken off the streets.

i think not,one isolated incident does not compare with Saddam's history of abuse and torture, granted it should not have happened but its not up for comparison nor is the treatment of Iraq POW by the Americans, this was one incident 2 years ago and the guilty have been punished

the thing is - these soldiers are completely and utterly brainwashed to believe that these people are their worst enemy. They have to be in order to do the things they do.
I'm sure that many take it too personally and take it upon themselved to execute their own revenge. Can we really blame them for this? I am not sure.
If you were to imagine that someone murdered a member of your family and then you were put in a room with them... could honestly say that you would not be tempted to at least hit that person? That is how real and how deeply many of these solders feel.
I am not saying its right - the war isnt right... its just that we need to look at this from the soldiers point of view as well.

Your point being?
You should also remember what George Orwell said:
People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

nope, they are better by far. They shouldn't have done it yes, but were are you to sympathize with a group of "soldiers" (used loosely, more like a gang of retards with guns) called the republican guard.
Thats happened in every war and every conflict, the faster you get over it the faster you realize it really doesn't merit complaining about.
