His best chance for this year will be The US Open, if any. Unfortunately for him, his game isnt diverse enough, has no topspin backhand, and his net play is iffy. Forget Wimbledon. His only chance there, is if he serves aces consistently, and returns low and deep. I think Connors quit as his coach cause he seen Roddick is limited and is stubborn and doesnt listen. Andy came onto the tour thinking his big serve was going to win him matches, tournaments, and his Austin way of thinking, that by pounding the ball as hard as he could would rack up wins. Well he has yet to realize, that isnt the way, or answer.

The best chance he has is winning one or maybe a couple more tournaments before the end of the year. He can go as far as the quarters or probably the semis of a grand slam and he won't go any further than that. An Olympic gold medal? Hmmm... probably yes since the competition is not that strong in the olympics (even an unknown Chilean won the gold medal last olympiad so he has a big chance of winning). And as for the number one ranking... nul chance.

Let's make it a multiple choice question.

    a) Winning a grand slam?

    b) Winning a masters event?

    c) Regaining # 1?

    d) Winning an olympic medal?

    a) He may be a dark horse, but there are too many players around who can beat him, even though Federer is in a slump.

    b) This is a possibility, particular those in the N American circuit

    c) Out of the question

    d) A distinct possibility. Americans have a certain aura when it comes to the olympics. Remember Capriati beat Graf?

    I would go with d - olympic medal, although I won't rule out b - masters title.

the player who was most affected due to federer's dominance was Roddick

Im sure he would have won atleast 5 grand slams had it not been for MR FEDERER

But now since Federer is not as good as he was (although he is still very good) Roddick really has a better chance

I love Roddick just because he is a great entertainer

No chance Roddick may never see number one again.I see him with two choices .Spend the rest days of his in the top ten and maybe win one or two slams.Next take a year off go to one of the elders of the game like Laver,Rosewall or Bollttieri and get a backhand.I know he went to Connors.Connors was bad choice A player who had a weak serve who gave 110 percent on every point. I also think the temper of Connors did not help.

I think Andy Roddick has a good chance because basically with Federer hype slowly coming to a more stable route, really Novak and Rafael are just dueling it out for that number 1 and 2 spot. This basically leaves a large margin for Roddick to play with an attitude of playing with nothing to lose.

    Well let's see:

Winning a Grand Slam - NO

Winning an Olympic medal - NO NO

Regaining his ATP #1 - NO NO NO

Nailing Maria Sharapova - HELL NO

Getting a new coach who can actually help him more than Connors could have - I really doubt it.

No Andy is relegated to mediocrity I'm afraid.

Atleast he has the American Express commercials to keep him busy or did he loose that too?

lets admit it roddick is already past his prime, if he was dominant in the past then we can say that he still has what it takes to become a champion, he is already eclipsed by more talented young players and still under the shadow of his dominant contemporaries

For the French, Roddick will not be noticed...but come the grass court season, I see him winning Stella Artois...as for Wimbledon, Nadal may do it this year and the US Open will be a toss up between Andy and Novak if form comes in...too early to tell...

i think roddick has a good chance at wimbledon or the us open. i would love to see him make the finals
