Do Japanese not like Korea because of their inferiority complex?

I have some Korean friends, all of whom often tell me that most Japanese people think ill of Korea because they feel inferiority to Korean people. Is it true? Do Japanese really have that kind of feeling as they say?

    It is the opposite.

Japanese people were care less about Koreans at all before.

Koreans have been taking "Anti-Japan" attitude for a considerable length of time after WW2. In fact, South Korea have Anti-Japan policy even now and the president (and politicians) have been criticizing Japan on medias many times. Korean people's attitude and activities are also terrible. They not only do Anti-Japan demonstration but also burn Japanese flag and tear Japanese PM's picture very often. They never stop to accuse Chinilpa (Pro-Japan people) in their country. And they also spread false stories about Japan (Japan's history, origin of Japanese culture, quality of made in Japan products, etc) to the world without proofs and VANK tries to change many a information regarding Japan on the Internet.

A marked change was found among young Japanese. They didn't take Koreans' attitude anymore and started to go on the counterattack.

In 2005, Kenkanryu (Manga - The Hate Korea Wave) was published in Japan and it spread nationwide soon. From that moment, Japanese are seen they have never suppressed their own feelings.

In the same year, a strange law was promulgated in South Korea. It is "Special law to redeem pro-Japanese collaborators' prop". This is a law to confiscate properties of Korean collaborators to Japan during and before Japan's annexation of Korea in 1910. This law also allows the government to confiscate the properties of those collaborators' descendants.

This means S.Korea is judging the deed of the people of 100 years ago by the law in this 21st century. This was unbelievable thing to Japanese (and probably to the people in the western countries, too). Those "The Hate Korea Wave"young Japanese are now thinking South Korean people are downright crazy (of course not all) and are the people who can't talk seriously and logically. (and also wondering why they don't stop to buy Japanese products)

    Korean Inferiority Complex

My answer is "No I don't" and I've never met a single Japanese who feels inferiority to Korean (^ ^;)

However I personally think Korean and Japanese have similar thoughts to how the people around someone would feel.

As other people already say it's true that most Japanese care less about Korean. Maybe we should care more, after all, Korea and Japan are close neighbors and should have good neighborly relations.

Most of the time you'll find Koreans and Chinese people talking "bad" about Japanese because of the past history of Japanese occupations of their home countries, especially during World War 2.

Generally speaking Japanese I doubt the Japanese people think they have an inferiority complex, quite possible its the opposite, the I think some have a superiority complex, but thats another story.

Don't you know Korean movie stars are extremely popular in Japan? Japanese have no prejudice against Koreans. Good is good, and bad is bad.

When Korea opened its window to Japanese pop culture in mid 1990s, both nations were released from their past history. Now, we can appreciate both cultures without any preoccupation.

What? Inferiority complex? What are you talking about? All the nations on earth are proud of their own culture and history, don't we?

What kinda "Korean friends" do you have? You'd better stay away from them.

    Haha

Exchange those Japanese and Korean in your text and read it.Now you know that's true.

Japanese less care about Koreans than they do about Japanese and they (Japanese people) don't tell some foreigners like "Most korean people are ...blah blah blah" that's just nonsense and disgraceful but for SOME Koreans like your friends, that is honorable and patriotic conduct.

I can only speak from my personal experience.

No Japanese person that I've ever met has had anything against Korea, except for the Japanese who have been to Korea. I've never been to Korea, but I've been told that in Korea, a lot of businesses have separate entrances for Japanese people. That sounds very hard to believe, but I have no reason to doubt these people. The only other thing they didn't like was that it's impossible to get a meal in Korea that wasn't so spicy that it burned their mouths, and kimchee is on everything.

I've also never met any Koreans (although I haven't been to Korea, so I have only met about a dozen) who don't like Japan or Japanese people.

Edit: To add to area52;s answer, it's true that Japanese don't discriminate against Koreans in particular, they discriminate against all foreigners equally. Don't get me wrong, I like many things about Japan, but unfortunately the Japanese attitude towards foreigners is sometimes unbelievably xenophobic.

I know some Koreans like what you said but they themselves have inferiority complex to Japan. No Japanese have such silly feeling to any other countries. They are patriotic as well as everybody though, don't have any inferiority to others.

Actually Japanese doesn't care about Korean too much in daily life.

Last time I checked, Koreans also claimed Confucius was Korean, not Chinese, they claimed the great wall was built by Koreans, they think everything on earth is invented by Koreans, i think only people with inferiority complex have this extreme arrogance.
