VERY OLD line
LOL when we were kids we never thought about or could afford line exchanges, break offs were common and frequent
Today I use Power Pro almost exclusively, a fishing buddy in NJ got me started on it and I really like it, but I have been reading lot's of good stuff about Suffix lately

Worst: P-line. After it's had some tension on it (like from winding in a big fish) its knot strength goes to nearly zero.
Best: Trilene Big Game. I found that the freshwater Trilene (XT) discolors after a day fishing in the salt (the yellowish color made me worry, though I never noticed it weakening), but the Big Game doesn't have that problem.
Actually, the really "worst" line I ever used came from a big chain "sporting goods" store (which really specializes in ski clothing and so on). I got a spool of line (a major brand, though I don't recall which) for trout fishing, and it was brittle and weak -- I realized afterwards it had been sitting on the shelf for a couple of years. The lesson here is to get your line from a place which sells a lot of it, so you don't get old brittle stuff.

I do not care for Power Pro braid, Berkley Iron Silk, P-Line,
I do like Triple Fish Florucarbon, Berkle Trilene Maxx, and Fireline

P-Line Flourocarbon 4 pound test. A light jerk (like 1 pound of force) would break the line. I still wonder if something had ruined it before I got it like UV light or who knows. It's my fishing buddy's favorite.
Lately, I like Gamma co-polymer.
I never used Cajun because I like the line to disappear even near the water surface so I use clear. It's color doesn't need to disappear at 10 feet because it already has no color. Also, why do we use red lures deep? When I see it spooled on a reel I wonder if either the owner is getting paid to recommend it or the owner is a sucker for commercials. I might try Cajun if they came out with clear.

Ive never had any that i would say is really bad, good lines i have found are sufix tritanium and also Berkley big game, stren gold and the last one which i believe is THE best fluorocarbon out there for fly fishing tippet it has to be airflo g3

Don't even remember the name of the stuff Berkley came out with couple of years ago, was a real dark green, and stiff as wire.
The next worst was when P- Line first came out, tried some and it was like using wire.
Now I use Fluorocarbon on everything but my crank bait rods, or top water rods...then its straight mono.

I once used Trilene on a Penn Reel with an Ugly Stik......
Need I say more ??
Original Stren on a Shimano Stradic with a Loomis GL2 float rod was superior.
For fly leaders if you are tieing your own, Maxima is great because it is a little stiffer and rolls out very nicely.

Never really had much trouble with "freshwater lines". I always use Berkley products, (XT, Big Game, Vanish, Fireline, Etc.) Stren products are "OK", (Although I really like their SuperBraid on spinning outfits). My "new love" is PowerBraid.
I HAVE had issues with Maxima on my baitcasters, until I realized it takes a couple fishing trips to "break-in". In fact, most Mono/Fluro lines on my baitcasters usually take "75 casts" to perform correctly! (lol)
But once "broke in", BOY HOWDY! (lol)
Unless your looking for a "line-record" watch out for Ande Line in inshore-salt/offshore. Ande Line is made to the exact lb strength. Break-offs will occur!

Berkely IronSilk was probably the one that is stiff as wire. i thought the same thing. I bought like half a year ago when they had some leftovers and they sold like 300 yards for 2 bucks. But the best is probably Trilene Sensation, IT awesome and strong
