Having difficulty upgrading Dell laptop hard drive. Upgrade kit does not match hard drive. Help?

Hard drive is not a PATA nor SATA at least it doesn't match either connector in upgrade kit.

    I have 3 DELL Notebook PCs and have upgraded two of them with larger hard drives.

    The newer one DELL LATITUDE D620 required the newer SATA HD version but unfortunately I couldn't use the existing original Dell SATA HD on my older DELL LATITUDE D800.

    Please note the the older DELL Notebook PCs use the IDE/ATA 100/PATA <= note there is a Connector Pin but you should be able to remove it from your existing IDE hard drive and that connector piece as well as the caddy tray is sold on EBAY as shown below <= please don't pay attention to price as the sole purpose is to identify the necessary Dell parts...

    you may need a hard drive connector

    for the most part all dell hard drives are IDE or SATA
