Hello, I plan to visit Lisbon in May ( 3 or 5 days) I've never been there before so I would be grateful for any advice.

I just got back from Portugal and it was wonderful! Lisbon is a beautiful city. But make sure that you make the trip to Sintra to visit the castles there... it was the highlight of my trip! A site I always use for hostel reservations is hostelworld.com . They have a variety of low cost options in Lisbon and you do not need to have a hosteling membership. I hope you find something good.

Hi axloo,
If i had to recommend one good hostel it will be Lisbon Lounge Hostel ,this hostel is beautiful ,it is decorated with style, really modern and very good quality .
located in the most historical area of Lisbon. You will find pedestrian streets full of monuments, restaurants, cafes, esplanades, shops, supermarkets, tourism info spot and so much more...
Also close to the main transport system (bus, tram and subway), the best night life area - Bairro Alto - and the train station who takes you to the nearest beaches – Estoril and Cascais!
But there a lot of good hostels ,cheap and really great in lisbon there are also
Oasis Backpackers´ Mansion Lisboa which it is called a place designed for the modern day global traveler.A really modern hostel is Black and White Hostel , located in the centre of Lisbon
If you want have a look at the photos, there are really worth it

Amy B. said it all.
About Sintra, Amy is absolutlly right!
It's a unique place in the world!
Very beautiful, but very misterious and mistic.
(I don't understand why hollywood don't make terror movies in Sintra)
Lord Byron went there - with his "gang" - in the 1800's and become astonished by the place.
The house he stayed, is still there.
(To find it, just look in the tourist guides.)
