Survey: Does it bother anyone else when people misuse expressions?

Does it bother anyone else when people misuse/missay expressions?

I mean, I hate when people say, "I could care less." The expression is, "I could NOT care less."

Does anyone else get annoyed by that?

If so, what is one example of an error that really bothers you?

Thanks :)

Update:

just so you know, i don't like freak out or anything when people say them wrong. it's just one of those things...

Update 2:

oh i hate the irregardless too!

Yes; it makes me think the person is either stupid, or very young. One of the worst ones I ever saw written down was, "Me and my husband can hardly make endsmeat with our jobs." Endsmeat??? That sounds awful. Possibly even pornographic!!

YES! sometimes it really does. mostly I'm pretty tolerant. I live in a multicultural city full of immigrants, and it is sometimes highly entertaining watching people massacre the English language. but people who should know better ought to make the effort. "I could care less" is a particularly crass one. I also don't like "anyways" and "youse all". the way people misuse the words "literally" and "figuratively" is a particular pet peeve of mine. a wave of "whatnot" has been sweeping across the land for a few years now, and I do not like it one bit. some people just suck all the life and fun out of language and we should put a stop to it!

Ppl tend to misuse words frequently.

My favorite "misuse" of language goes to

Oprah Winfrey for the use of the word "impact".

You can have an impact on something but

    you can't be "impacted"by it.

Someone please tell Oprah that everytime

she says this, she is telling the world that

    something constipated her badly.

"I could care less" is correct. Thinks of it this way. You're saying that in a negative way meaning that you are careless so much toward something that you could even give it "less" care. When used that way, it forms more of an insult to the subject.

That example is one that drives me insane as well

Almost no one says it correctly...

    Hahah

I can't think of any others at the moment though...

But that one, I always bring it up to people and they just blink and ignore me

    heh

    =]]

Yes when people say "That's so ironic" out of context.

It's like do you even know what irony is????
