well since you've already answered your own question, who am i to argue. it really boils down to the kind of experience you are looking for. tent out away from people, travel trailer with hook ups in close enough to get to the local diner. they both have merit for the specific outing. i usually go travel trailer for cold weather. a lot to be said for that big heater. i go tents in summer to get away from the noise. tent bonus points, there's always comedy when someone sets their tent up for the first time. im always the guy with the camera. have fun.~~~*<>{

I love a travel trailer but there really is something to be said for tent camping with your kids and the open fire , sitting around telling stories , no TV , no comforts ( other than an air mattress ) just a great way to get closer to the ones you love or just be better friends with someone

For years when my children were growing up we went camping, we had a trailer tent so we slept in beds off the floor,but it looked like a tent from the outside, and we loved it. We always went to the south coast, and had some fantastic holidays. My kids and there kids still go camping in tents to the same site that we have used for over 20 years, they all have tents.
I have to say my holidays are spent abroad now.

I have camped in A Motorhome, trailer, tent trailer and a tent. All have there issue and all are fun. I enjoy the tent the most though but I motorhome is also great.

My favorites are the insta-set tents made by "Greatland." They aren't very easy to find anymore, but they're definitely worth the effort to look. Instead of having individual poles that have to be strung though the sides of the tent, the poles are built right in. All you have to do it bend them slightly and snap them in place. It only takes about 2-3 minutes to set the tent up compaired to about 20 with a standard pole tent.

We have a tent and also a RV. We use the tent in nice weather and the RV in the HOT summer or theCOLD months.
Tenting is TRUE camping.. but it is also nice to have a backup incase the weather is not that good.

We have a campervan and an awnning that attaches - looks very much like a tent and has one bedroom. This keeps the kids happy - and we can have our comfort too - so my answer is both! xx

we use both... the trailer or RV is used to get outta the heat and any bad weather other thatn that the tent is what i prefer!
