Cheap Hotel Downtown Chicago-this weekend?

Hi there,

I am looking for a cheap hotel (under $200) Downtown Chicago, I would prefer the Loop, Magnificent Mile, or Theater District. Any recommendations?

Any site that has last-minute deals? (I am traveling this Friday-Saturday)

Thanks for the answers, guys, I found a great (brand new, 4-star) hotel for $169. I discovered the trick is to skip travelocity, hotels.com, etc., and go straight to the hotel company source, in this case Marriott.com.

    My cousin has always had good luck with priceline in downtown chicago, but I am a little leery of using it cause you don't know what hotel they are gonna choose for you.

    I don't know much about hotels other than where they are located in the area but I do know that downtown Chicago hotels are most likely going to run you over $200 a night. If you can drive about 20 miles from Chicago like out the Stevenson or Eisenhower or something like that you'll find hotels that'll most likely be in the average price range for national hotels.

    You may want to forget about getting a room for under $200 right now. The city is selling out due to a bunch of conventions in town this week, and Friday-Saturday is just about as bad as Saturday-Sunday. Hotel rooms anywhere near downtown are at a premium right now so if you can find one, even the crappy ones are around $300 a night.

    If you 're not willing to pay that much, check downtown after April.

    good luck with that...anything right downtown is more than 200 unfortunately. and thats when you can actually get a room!
