My Power Steering Fluid is leaking?
I have a 2006 Impala and the power steering is leaking out and I can barely turn the wheel. HOw much does it cost to fix when going 2 a mechanic? and is the covered by the powertrain warranty?

Just had lower power steering hose replaced ( it burst) on a 2006 chevy impala yesterday. cost is around $130.00 parts and labor. **** If someone knows about a recall that is still valid on this vehicle, let me know, car is out of warranty.

I don't believe it's covered under the power train warrenty. It usually just covers the engine and transmission.
In terms of cost it depends on what is causing the leak. High pressure hose or low pressure hose or the power steering pump.
It terms of expense it would go pump, high pressure hose and then low pressure hose.
Parts alone hundreds to around twenty bucks. In labor it really depends on what it is.
You may first want to try a smaller local shop to identify the problem and go from there. Most dealers charge upwards of 80 dollars an hour if it's not covered by the warrenty.

I'm not sure about the powertrain warranty.
Depending on what the leak is (size, spot in system--reserve holder-hoses-etc), you problem could get if fixed for under $100 (it all depends on hourly charge for mechanic and where the leak is).

If your impala is still under the three years or thirty six K miles warranty is covered 100%.This is a bumper to bumper warranty. If you out of base warrenty it could still be covered if there is a bulletin sheet from the factory on this problem.Best of luck.

Sounds like you have a ruptured boot to me. Take it to the dealer and find out.

No big deal - your car will run without it. It's just harder to turn the wheel. alternatively, you can continually fill it up. I did this for years without a problem. Fixing it will probably cost about 300 dollars.
