In a shared printer, in an office network, is it possible to track who gave print command for which page?

I mean, is it possible that every single page will automatically print a tiny header/footer indicating from which workstation the print command was given?

...your administrator will be able to 'see' the print queue and tell you...

if you want a header or footer, you'd have to specify that each time(?) which means that people could turn that function off... or you get some clever IT boffin to write some kinda code that embeds a command into ALL your word/excel etc etc packages,.

    ....sounds complicated to me!!
