How good (or bad) is this graphics card?
Sparkle GF 6200
256mb ddr 2 ram
AGP 8x 2.1GB/sec
Is this good or bad? What can be done with this graphics card?
I know you all are saying that this card is useless for games and I know you are right
But the description on the site says things like 'Next-generation shader architecture delivers faster and smoother gameplay.'
The industry’s fastest antialiasing delivers ultra-realistic visuals, with no jagged edges, at lightning-fast speeds. Visual quality is taken to new heights through a new rotated grid sampling pattern.
Why do they tell these lies?

Sorry you will need a newer card than that, 7 series at least (if you are gaming)

Go for an nVidia 8 or 9 series (e.g., 8800GTS, 8600, 9800GT, 9600GTX) They get better as numbers get higher to put it simply. ATI are lagging in the GPU market at the moment, don't buy one. The best company to get an nVidia GPU from would be EVGA as they have the best technical support and well built cards. There are loads of rubbish graphics cards out there. I couldn't really pick one and say it's the worst.

Its not really a lie since when they wrote it, it was considered true. It would be false advertising if they said that statement about that card now. When that was the bar for technology, you could say it was the fastest AA engine or whatnot, and they dont bother to change it because it would be too redundant to change them all the time when the bar is constantly being set higher.

How good or bad a graphics card is always depends on what you are expecting from it, if you want to play COD 4 or F.E.A.R that card is as much use as a chocolate fire guard, whereas if you want to email surf the net play basic games that are not to graphic demanding then it would be okay.

If you plan on gaming, I wouldn't go below a 8600.
For everyday use, word, ppt, the internet and such this card would be fine, but if you want more oomph get a much better card.

Wow, Ive had to google that to see what it was :P
Hrm... Its more Bad than good. Its pretty dated now.
It cant really play many games, except perhaps pacman and space invaders (On very low graphics)
If your planning on gaming / photoediting it should be a fine graphics card to support an Operating system (except vista of course)

2.1gb per second with only 256mb don't think so mate for that speed you would need at least 512 or over for that nothing less will do that sorry mate.

Its not very good..Most good graphics cards start at 512mb..The 6200 is at the bottom range..You should be looking at starting from 8600 upwards

Old. It'll work as a minimum for most games, but it is no speed queen.
