Cocker Spaniels!!!!!!!!!!!1?

I have one, and yes I love them! They're so cute with their big, floppy ears. lol. I talk to my doggie like he's a baby, because he's just so cute! lol. A tip I have for cocker spaniels is to clean their ears a lot and get them a bowl with ridges that curve in more so the dog's little ears don't get wet when he drinks his water.

I have 3 American Cocker Spaniels. I also had one when I was growing up. I wouldn't want another breed. They are loveable and eager to please. I have never had a snappy one although I've heard that can be a problerm. Several things on upkeep of a cocker spaniel.

1. you have to keep the ears clean and dry.

2. there is upkeep with grooming.

3. I don't have the special feeding and drinking bowls but I do use have to use headbands to keep their ears out of food and water

4. cocker spaniels are more "needy" & "require" more attention than other breeds

5. can have a long life-I have a 14 yr old cocker and have a friend with a 18 year old cocker

Have one and LOVE them. I have owned many dogs in my life and my Cocker Spaniel has been one of the best. They are fun and playful and generally an all around great dog. 2 things to look out for when purchasing. If you are looking to get one, I would get an English Cocker and look into a field type. these have the shorter hair which means easier to groom by yourself, and they dont shed as much. My cocker is so loyal. he follows me everywhere and loves cuddling up on the couch. He is very smart and was easily trainable, but to say that yours will do all this and be as good of a dog is far from true to say. it all depends. are all people the same? no, and that means that not all dogs are the same, but if i could suggest a dog it would definately be a cocker spaniel.

I have had two. They are a very loyal loving dog. They make very good pets. But they are prone to ear problems. So you need to keep there ears cleaned. And some can have skin allergies. So use a good shampoo when you wash them. A shampoo from your vet is usually the best.

um.... there r 2 kinds the russian cocker and american cocker. my mom had one 4 a long time and she still adores them. they shed. they're gun dogs. they like water (most of them). they are very energetic and playful. theyre cute with watery, almost crying eyes.

i like cocker spaniels personaly i have a chahuahua and my friend is keeping his pom at my house for a while but my mom is a dog groomer she thinks cocker spaniels r good dogs

I had a cocker spainel they are cute and i love them mine had a real personallity and i definatly think that you should get one except watch out for their ears they have a hard time hearing you can segerie to stop the ear wax wich is wat causes it also they have tendincy to catch deseases but they live longer are cute and anyone who abuses them or doesnt like them i hate you

why would you say they are the best dog if you don't know anything about them?

I had 2 they are the awesome then again so is my 2 girls now...they are bigger and are mutts but they are equally nice.

they are an ok breed. they can be snappy, usually have skin and ear problems, and when they get older, they get cardiac problems. and for some reason, they can be stubborn about soiling in the house. :)

i did had him for four years ... but he attack one of my kids(found out that his dad and mom where from the same family, didn't know that at the time i got him, he went mental)

so we absolutely had to put him down... i cried forever
