Where do you see Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah 10 years from now?

There are underlying "structural" problems in this part of the world, including the UAE, that cannot readily be solved. 1) a non-democratic form of government that restricts feedback to the government from those being "governed." 2) a huge expat population that does nearly all of the work while not having access to the benefits of being a resident, 3) a nearly non-existent awareness of environmental impacts that relate to having so much wealth.

I do not see these problems being addressed in the next 10, or even 20 years. Everything else is related to these underlying problems so I expect everything, as a consequence, to get worse: over-population, extreme traffic congestion, poor planning that will lead to over-building and over-crowding, and a multitude of environmental crises of which running out of water is just one. I wouldn't want to be living here five years from now, when these problems will have become much more apparent than they are now. Time is running out for these guys.

Traffic could be worse.. Govt will be better.. population will rise to unexpected, education will be more unaffordable, entertainment will be same but more liberal and hope the water output will be developed to give public comfort in the rainy week of the year. oh yes, more crazy buildings and man-made structures wil surely comeup.. and also the country will start importing oil by then.

Democracy...Pakistan 25%, Indian 20%,philipine 10%,....45% arabs

Education 99% literate

Traffic: More boats,Cable Cars,Helicopter services..

Labours force in construction: North African , Afghanis, palestines,iraq.

White collar job: Emiraties....and other arabs..

very less europeans.

China and India will have strong influence....

Instead of USA defence equipment...they will be using chinese and Russian arms

It's predicted that Abu Dubai will be a concrete mess .There will be too many malls. Cars will go electric no takers for their oil. Tourist will dwindle .
