Now that Weiland is officially out of Velvet Revolver....?

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/...

..... who would you get for his replacement (and please let's try to avoid the Axl Rose / GN'R reunion avenue... it ain't gonna happen).

Update:

Silver - Okay, so ..... I'm soooooo much cooler than they are, and everyone here knows it. :-P

Update 2:

Cold Roses - Word on the street is that Bach is already in. Why would you consider that bad (other than Bach being a grade A douchebag, but so was Weiland)? The guy has a fantastic voice.

Honestly, I was amazed at how well this group did with Weiland. I don't see lightning striking twice here and them having the same degree of success. I disagree with you on the part that Axl will never rejoin them. As more time goes by, the amount of potential money being thrown their way will only make it that much more tempting. I think it's a very real possibility it could happen within the next five years.

But since we all know Axl is a first class loser, we'll go ahead without him. The safest choice you could make that might even work out OK would probably be Chris Cornell.

Wow, didn't take long for this question to pop up. I've actually been thinking about this off and on over the last 16 hours or so. It's possible the band may look back to the singers who auditioned for them back in 2003. Josh Todd from Buckcherry has the right sound to his voice, but I'm not sure if he's got the pipes like Weiland. Then there's Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge, but his voice is too good, and I think he should stay with his current band. There's also Travis Meeks from Days Of The New, but I think his style is too dark for a band like Velvet Revolver.

Here's a few choices I think they should consider...

    Chris Robinson (Black Crowes)

    Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave)

    Kevin Martin (Candlebox)

    Brett Scallions (Fuel)

    Josh Todd (Buckcherry)

EDIT: Stevie B, good call with Ian Astbury, I could see his voice working well with their style.

Rckets, I totally agree with you on Cornell, and what you said about Axl. In fact, I think it's more likely that Axl will reunite with Slash and Duff than put out "Chinese Democracy."

I never thought Weiland had the aggression in his voice to compliment Slash"s guitar. I never even troubled myself with listening to Velevet Revolver, because of that reason alone.

I agree with GK Dub, and Rckets about Chris Cornel. In fact I would love that!

Edit: I don't think that Sebastian Bach would work for one reason. He is stuck in the 80s. Bummer. I love him!

I would like to see him replaced with Gilbey Clarke since Rock Star Supernova is on hiatus and might not get back together at all.

Gilbey would be a perfect fit since he was in GNR for 3 years with Slash and Duff and they are familiar with each other.

Plus he is a great singer if you have ever heard his solo albums!

i couldnt be happier...any time you create a "supergroup" of sorts the material should be as good as their previous bands' work. this would immediately dismiss comparisons. unfortunately, their albums were inconsistent and a little cheesy. songs like fall to pieces make me cringe. i own both albums and saw velvet live (so i've been able to form this opinion all on my own!)...im a big fan of stp and guns, so as i said im happy. now as for who i would replace him with...Mark Lanegan from Screaming Trees.

Edit: oh please, oh please dont let it be sebastian bach. if that happens they would just be signing their own death warrant....so good luck with that.

Edit: why? nothing against his voice, im just afraid they wouldnt work well together/make good music. its just a bad feeling, thats all.

Rumor has it that Sabastian Bach is a very possible replacement.
