A "Carrie" DVD wont play anymore, not a scratch on it, tough "buy" a new one.....I payed for the rights to use this material, the maker is the one violating the law with defective media denying my rights as a buyer of the copyright license to use the material
An Electronics Workbench disc(circuit simulation), lifetime support, a year later I get a new PC try to install it, bad disc, sorry, buy a new version, we don't have discs or a copy of the files to email you
How about the "millions" of 8 track tapes that the splice broke on, and the "millions" that the pinch roller rotted into a goo that gummed up your player (yes I am that old....)
The countless cassettes that the leader broke on
Sure this stuff is old but some of us keep collections, and besides we "DID" pay for it.
Yea we been ripped off enough,
No 2 wrongs don't make a right, but they do make the score even and level the play field....
So, a big yes, it's fine by me.....
Plus you can get old stuff that is simply not for sale anywhere

I am in favor of "piracy" on the internet because to try to combat it will bring too much harm to the internet because as it is designed, its just waaaaaaaaaaaay too dam easy. You get rid of one "pirate" and another 10 will spring up to replace it, just like when napster was shut down. And what is the point of slapping a 10 year old girl with a felony? Did that REALLY accomplish anything besides ruining a person's life? I heard a middle-class working woman got sued and lost so much money that they will garnish her wages for the rest of her life. What a crock.
They need to figure out a different way to make money. Entertainment industry have been fat cats for way too long. It costs a manufacturer less than a penny to produce a CD, yet the price for a CD has always been higher than cassette tapes which costed hundreds of times more to produce.
Not only that, but producers decided what we see and hear for entertainment. I like a more free market of ideas. That is why Youtube is so popular.

How can one be in favor of piracy? Theft is theft, whether the theft of a casket of jewels or the theft of intellectual property.
