Did anyone hear about the Third Grade class that was going to KILL their teacher?
I was wondering where they could have got such an idea to do such a thing. One of the kids had to start the ball rolling.
Do you feel that being a special needs child would be excusable for this kind of action?

I beleive that one of the greatest causes for this sort of mentality is that we don't hold children responsible for their actions.
Ironically, I don't hold these students responsible in this case. Individually, they are responsible for whatever level of involvement they had in this plot, but the reason we have so many (11) children so young all participating in a very detailed plot that took days of planning and days of keeping hush about it because they knew it was wrong, the reason for this is the fault of society. We have created these monsters (speaking not about the children but about the actions and attitudes) through our political correctness that has us accusing people who spank their children of child abuse and our ridiculing of people who try to teach their children values through religion. (I am not religious, by the way, but I get sick of the rolling of eyes and exchanged glances over the heads of the "simple," "misguided," "right-winged" "religious nuts.")

First, they were not planning to KILL her. They were planning on "teaching her a lesson" according to the news.
They plotted this because one of them was disciplined for standing on a chair.
They were, of course, massively misguided.
They were NOT arrested, though the DA is seeking criminal charges, but they are not allowed to convict as criminals kids under the age of 13.
School officials say they punished all nine students, and some received long-term suspension, but they would not be more specific. Under school system rules, children who bring weapons to school may also face expulsion. (this from an article, that I cut and pasted)
No. being a special needs kid does NOT excuse this sort of action! And none of the kids have been identified as special needs.
It's absolutely appalling! Must be watching too much TV.

Yeah its sad, but hey you have to think about it. they all were special needs children, it was a special needs class. Who is to say they knew exactly what they was doing was right or wrong, i guess you would have to go on a case by case basis with each child

Yeah, thats crazy. My Poli Sci teacher sometimes shares news with us and he read it to us today, supposely that had no intent to kill her, but what else were they going to do. They had knives and plans to clean up. I cant believe they were so young.
