Could my baby be born retarded if I took diet pills before he was born?

Firstly, please dont refer to people with people with learning difficulties as being "retarded" it is a very old fashioned, offensive and discriminatory term!

The answer will depend on what was in the diet pills and how much you took and for how long.

I would recommend you consult your doctor asap - though judging by your question you probably wouldnt "want" a "retarded" baby anyway!?

No your baby will be very normal and healthy! Diet pills will not hurt the baby!And the baby will not be retarded!

i wouldnt say your baby would turn out retarted..bu taking any kind of over the counter drug should be discussed with your physcian.

No...just look at all the crack heads and herion addicts that use WHILE they are pregnant and they have healthy babies for the most part...just be glad you stopped right away and take your prenatals...BTW...I took diet pills beofre I got pregnant and my daughter is beautiful and very smart.

Your baby should be fine, as long as you found out early in your pregnancy and stopped immediately.
