How can I make a telemarketer stop calling me?
I have been registered on the national do not call registry for some time now, although that did not stop this one. For almost 2 weeks now, a telemarketer has been calling me. They have called somewhere around 20 times, so far. I have answered and told them to stop calling three times, I thought it was finally over. Then they called again today... I have sent them emails requesting they stop, right from the beginning of their calls, which obviously have been ignored or blocked. Besides changing my number, what can I do to make them stop calling???
I have reported each and every call, to the do not registry, but they said that doesn't stop them, it just keeps track of the calls. The telemarketer is a college over 1500 miles away from me that I never heard before they started calling. Best guess is that Dish Network gave it to them in retaliation for canceling their services recently. The number that they call is my cell number.

Maybe it isn't a telemarketer and it is a collection agency. I registered for that national do not call as well. You can actually report the specific number again and tell them how often they have called and at one number. They will investigate it. It worked for me... good luck!

i just did a really funny prank on him when i had the same problem and they never called back. Just say that they called right before you were about to call the ambulance because your dad slipped and cracked his head. If this really happened, they could legally be put in prison for life, and get the life sued out of them.
...but yes, legally, they cant keep doing this because its harassment. Threaten to sue, then follow through if they dont quit if you didnt like my prank idea :)

Well, there's a national do-not-call list, but I've heard of companies calling people with names on the list, anyway. My mother has a caller ID, and I guess the best you can do is check the caller ID everytime the phone rings. If the number is unfamiliar or it indicates that it is out of area, you could always refuse to pick up.

Listen to his sales pitch then ask him if he has found the lord. In other words turn the tables on him. He will hang up! Works all the time for me. They are trained to follow a script and religion is never a come back they expect.

Crank up some tunes and put the phone down in front of the speaker next time they call.

Report them to the do not call registry. It will cost them $10,000.00. You can tell them that the next time they call. Ask to speak to their supervisor.

You're on do not call? why not report them! They'll pay a lot of money for the calls they make to you. That ought to stop 'em!
