Since Obama has denounced Wright's comments, will his supporters expect him to find another church, now?
The Rev. Otis Moss III, who is replacing Wright when he retires June 1, defended Wright's comments. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080404/ap_on_el_pr/ob...
So it sounds like he embraces the same views as Wright, does it not? If Obama denounced Wright's statements, how can he continue to be a part of that church if he doesn't truly feel the same way as Wright and now Moss?
Obama supporters, I really want to know where you are on this. Knowing that Moss supports and defends the statements that you publicly denounced, could you continue to be affiliated with it, if you were Obama? I am really struggling to understand how an avowed Christian belief could allow you to remain, and worship, in an environment like that.
I am not trying to trick anyone. I do not support Obama. But I am stymied on this issue and would really like to know what you think.
Fretless: The idea that Trinity Church of Christ supports, and the new pastor intends to continue, Wright's racist bent is not an old story bumping around. Apparently, those statements were made by Moss Thursday. I asked this question honestly and respectfully, and I would appreciate honesty and respect in the answers.

No. What will happen is, Obama supporters will accept Obamas lies, about not agreeing with Wright for 20 years, refusing to insist Barrack denounce Wright himself, since Wright still believes in his racism, still Obamas "uncle", and the Obama supporters will still vote for Obama.
If Obama is elected, the pressure to do the right thing, stop being a racist will no longer be necessary. He would have won, got what he wanted, the Presidency, and continue to go to the same church, sitting next to his buddy of 20 years, listening to, and obeying the new minister who preaches the same hatred Uncle Wright did.

Claudia,
your are right.
This is all about attitude and mindset. Wright, refusing to denounce MoveOn.org, being vocal on Don Imus...says a lot about a man's views of the world.
Even if he does become President...he will be the most hated man. Why? Because common sense is not on his side. If he tries to implement far-left ideology...he will get crushed by the public. But if he doesn't the Far-left will ridicule him.
Barack Obama is too weak of a man. His biggest weakness...he wants to be friends with everybody...

I think Obama actually does agree with Wright and Moss's opinions despite the fact that he denounced it. Why would you stay at the same church for 20 years if you didn't agree with what the pastor said? I think if he stays with the church, the people of America are going suspect something is going on, if they aren't doing so already.

i think of the anti-American, yet I additionally don't think the Rev often and in many circumstances confirmed this and maximum possibly isn't honest to decide him on a 30 2nd video. there replace right into a extensive outcry from many individuals relating to the activities of 9-11.

I am less worried about what Obama does on Sundays when he serves God in his own way. I am more interested in what he does with his other days...the days he is serving The People.

Since Obama will be living on Pennsylvania Ave in Washington DC, rather than in Chicago- yes he will have to find a new church.

It just amazes me that this story is still bumping around these forums. It's dead everywhere else. You can keep trying to kick the horse, but....
it's dead.
